2023-2024 GYSO Rolling Auditions
Welcome to GYSO Rolling Auditions!
Auditions are submitted via digitally recorded video unless otherwise noted.
We look forward to another great GYSO season with you!
-The following ensembles have limited openings-
Symphony: Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Viola, Cello, Double Bass
Philharmonic: Bassoon, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Viola, Double Bass
Camerata: Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Cello, Double Bass
Additionally we have some general availability for the following ensembles: Harmonia, Concertino, Flute Choir, Clarinet Choir, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, String Symposium
You may also choose to audition for any position not listed and will be waitlisted in the event an opening occurs.
Rolling auditions will be adjudicated within seven business days of being received. Students placing in ensembles will notified of their join date, which is based on where that ensemble is in preparation for their current performance cycle.
To Submit An Audition, Please Follow The Steps Below
STEP 1 – READ THE AUDITION AND MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Please thoroughly review this audition packet which also contains links to required excerpts and scales (where applicable.)

Note: participation in a school music program is required, provided that one exists.
STEP 2 – REGISTER FOR GYSO (& SUBMIT SCHOLARSHIP REQUESTS)
Registration Fees are $35.
The Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestras program also provides need-based scholarships on a limited basis. To learn more about our need-based scholarships and to complete your application please go to our Scholarships page.
STEP 3 – AUDITION
GYSO Chorus will have in-person auditions scheduled around the regular rehearsal times. All other ensembles must submit a digital audition using the instructions below.

You should receive your audition result approximately 2 weeks after the deadline for submissions has passed.
