Summer Music Programs

Three Summer Music Programs will be offered this season through the GYSO program:

KSU/GYSO Summer Music Clinic (June 8 - 13, 2008)

This Summer Music Clinic provides students with a comprehensive musical experience. Students study with artist teachers, perform in ensembles (large and chamber), attend professional performances, and get practical information about how to become a more complete musician. The Clinic concludes with a performance of the large ensembles. Get your summer off to a great start and join us for an exciting week of music!

Arts Immersion at Mable House (June 23 - 28, 2008)

Immerse your Middle Schooler in this comprehensive, yet nurturing environment in which they may foster their creativity, grow as individuals and discover ways in which the arts can enrich their lives. Local artists and arts educators of the highest caliber serve as faculty and staff, and outstanding high school and college student’s acts as counselors for the program. Students take part in workshops, excursions, and activities that encourage them to expand their understanding of the major performing, visual, and literary arts: instrumental music, dance, vocal music, theater, pottery, visual art, and creative writing. Students also enjoy performing for each other, making new friends, enjoying professional performances, and celebrating with a party at the end of their session.

Elementary Explorations - Around the World (June 2 - August 1, 2008: Unique One Week Sessions)

Travel around the world with these different classes specifically designed for your Elementary School child. Visit Asia, Africa, the Americas, and many, many more distant lands and explore how music has shaped their culture and their heritage. Additional information coming soon.
